Lawrie Horner

Welcome to my website! My name is Lawrence John Horner, but I am known as Lawrie. 

 

I am an English man who experienced many of his formative years in Wales, Hobart abd Perth, and I now live in Melbourne. As a child, teenager and young man I suffered terrible abuse at the hands of my parents and the medical system, in part because I have autism, schizophrenia, OCD, and anxiety. But despite all of that, I have led a life that I am proud of, from booking rock’n’roll bands for Latrobe University in the 1980’s, to advocacy work for people with disability. I have written an autobiography about triumphing over challenges and finding meaning and fulfilment in life.
